I am only 2 months into a newly built home and the screws that were used for the drywall appear to be popping out in several places. I have seen an earlier post about nails and the reply suggested screws, but these screws are coming out too! Is this normal for a house only 2 months old? What do I need to tell the builders to do to rectify this situation so I can know if there is a major issue that may happen after the year warranty!

Are you sure the screws are popping out? I have never seen that happen but I guess it could. Usually the nail pops are caused by flexing of the wood during shrikage and expansion. I personally have not seen that ever happen with screws.
Usually the builder will do a walk through every 3-6 months and make repairs until the warranty is up. I would encourage you to mark each spot that has an issue to identify it so you can point them out when they come.

Thanks for the response. I thought it strange too, but one of them popped the drywall out and you could clearly see the screw. I called the builder to come out and showed multiple areas that are appearing throughout the house. I'm afraid this is the just the tip of the iceberg with issues on this house.

Drive them back in. Most likely they were not screwed all the way in. This does happen their could have been something behind the board like a shim at the time it was screwed in. And now it has falled leaving the board to flop just a bit on the wall. Push on the board if it gives a bit then you got it. It is a screw and they usually do not come out once driven stupid screws.

Then they could have missed the board all together it is simple and part of owning a home. It is built of wood and concrete buy people. It was not meant to fly or float or go into space it will not be perfect ever. You will be much happier if you get a bucket of sheetrock mud and a screw gun and just fix it yourself it will save you a lot of aggravation to just tend to it. This is why we have tool collections human flaws terrible thing. Find perfection in imperfection. I know corny but what the hey

If this is a new stickframed house, there could be warpage of studwalls from an incomplete drying out of wood that is causing settling or oil canning of the sheetrock. If this is a developed neighborhood project, check out the next door construction too.
The new house should have a 12 months warranty period to get things fixed. Do not attempt to do the fixes yourself, this will nullify the house warrantee. If this is a custom house owner-builder, well, good luck in getting the subs to come back for repairs unless they are legitimate and righteous. Sounds like the rockers didn't suck the sheetrock in far enough if the mudwork is popping out. The contractor should make this good in the eyes of the State licensing Board in general if done by permit.

1 Of 2 Things The Screws Were In To Deep To Start And There Not Holding The Drywall To The Studs. (my First Guess)
Or You Have Some Bowed Studs In The Wall The Screws Just Aren't Holding , Hope This Helps , Nichols Trim
