Windows vista has had a number of bugs which are being worked out by microsoft in a number of updates. Some of this where hardware and security related problems. From what i know most of these bugs sould be worked out within 1 year of Vista release. Some other bugs where program compatablity as well. I suggest going on windows updates website and download any new ones. If that doesn't work try finding a new driver for the device, this site may have it, [url="http://www.driverguide.com"]

If this helped rate it.

If it's new and you have a windows dics, xp or 2000, i would re-install windows until vista is a few months older and less buggy.

Does the optical mouse and receiver have those "connect" buttons? I know Logitech wireless mice have them, so maybe the MS ones do too. They way the mouse and receiver will be in sync.
