    Stuck computer mouse
    Hi
My mouse for my computer is getting terrible, it sticks and won't roll. Is there anything I can do to make it work better, besides bashing it around? Ok, and besides buying a new one, I want to try to make this one work first! Thanks for any info.

When a mouse with a rollerball starts getting sticky, it means you have fluff inside the motion readers. To fix it:

    1. take the ball out of the mouse (just twist the round cover on the bottom)
    2. get some ear budds (tweezers would work too) and swab around the inside, remove all clingying dust. - pay particular attention to the little black rollers. :)
    3. replace ball and cover
    4. use mouse
    5. repost to Ask Me Help Desk and say thank you 6
    6. your welcome :D

    Lol, hope that helps

    Regards,

Optical mice are about $7, I recommend getting one and you will never have that problem again.

I vote for replacement too. With optical rodents so cheap, it doesn't pay to try and maintain an older ball mouse.

If you decide to stick with the old mouse, make sure you have a decent mousepad. It helps reduce the amount of junk that gets in the rollers, because it's usually a little cleaner than just sitting the mouse on the desk.
