Plenty of good people here know more than I do. While you are waiting for one of them to answer, with the computer unpluged and yourself grounded, reseat all the cards and the plugs to the CD drive. Post back if that doesn't help, to give the others more information.

What I mean is just wiggling the card around in the slot, and then making sure it is clear in. That might fix a faulty connection in the video card. It is important to touch some bare metal inside the computer first so any charge in your body doesn't zap a chip.

Monitor not working
Hi, mikie,
When you say you unhooked your computer, did you actually take the case off the computer, and do something inside it?
If you did, did you ground your body (as labman said) BEFORE you touched anything inside the computer?
Anytime you open up a computer, you should have what is called a "wrist strap". This is a strap that snaps onto the wrist of the hand you will put into the computer, with a grounding snap on it, to snap onto the case itself.
If you don't have a wrist strap, then as labman said, you should have touched the case itself with say, your right hand, THEN put your fingers inside the computer.
I hope you didn't have a static electrical charge that has already zapped something.
If you can't get the monitor working, your best bet is to take your computer to a computer sales/repair store near you; let them check it out.
Best of luck,
fredg

Yeah, that is all it would take for a little moisture or corrosion to mess up a contact. Do the plug from the monitor the same way too.

There are several Possibilities
You may have bent a pin inside the monitor plug
The monitor plug is not attached securely
The video adapter board might have been loosened during the move
The monitor cable was crimped or damaged.
First check the plug for bent pins. Next check that the plug is on securely. Next, try using a differtent monitor or using the monitor on another PC to see if the problem is the monitor. If another monitor doesn't work, check the video board.
