Screen keeps refreshing and I can't stop it
Hello. So this all started when my boyfriend decided to replace a cd-rom drive on his own... decided it was a bad idea and put the orig. back into the computer. Well when he turned the computer back on, every window that he opens including internet keeps refreshing. It's refreshing so fast that the icons keep flashing. When on the internet, I can't even get to a different web page because the window keeps refreshing. The only window that refreshes is the active one. Anyone have any ideas? Much thanks!

Just curious, was there anything wrong the original cd rom?
Has there been any new software installed?
Try removing the cable fom the cd rom and start the PC to see if this happen again
The ribbon cable that goes into the back of the cd rom has a red stripe on one side of it
The red side of the cable must face in the direction of the power plug that is also plugged into the back of the cd rom
Try these things to see if it helps

That's an odd one... does your keyboard have a refresh button that may be sticking? That would be too easy, huh?

Check what your screen refresh rate is by right clicking on desktop/display props/settings/monitor... it should be set at 60 hertz , if so try running some virus and spyware scans .

Refreshing old wiring and outlets [ 1 Answers ]

A lot of the outlets in my house are non-polarized two-prong types. I'd like to replace them with polarized grounded outlets. I'd rather not just install a GFI outlet, as that kind of limits me. I can easily get at the cabling, and the outlets in question are run with two-conductor armored BX...
