removal of windows live messenger from my desktop

Hi all, my kids use the above all the time but it's not my thing. Could anyone tell me how to remove it from my desktop so that I don't have to wait for it to load before closing it each time.
Thanks Richard

uninstall it from control panel

Comments on this post
ScottGem disagrees: He doesn't want to uninstall it because other users of that PC still use it. He just wants it to not load under his account.
cornedbeef agrees: Thanks for that. But as Scottgem said, It would erase the whole programme
