Do one of the following:
  1. Click Start->Turn off Computer->Turn Off
  2. If that doesn't work (for example, everything is locked up) then press the power button.
  3. If it won't turn off when you press the button, hold the button in until it does go off.
  4. If it still won't turn off, pull the power cord and (after 10 seconds) plug it back in.
Now, press the power button once again, and it should come back on.

This should reboot your computer. (All it really means is turning your computer off and back on)

Hope this helps,
WallyH

Re-boots simply means re-start, turn it off then back on.

It depends on the kind of system. If it is Windows, you can:

1) Hold down the <CTRL><ALT><DEL> keys simultaneously. This will bring up a menu where one of the options is [SHUT DOWN]. Click that and then select RESTART from the scroll menu.

2) Click on the Start button; Select [SHUT DOWN]. Click that and then select RESTART from the scroll menu.

These are both soft-boots. If they fail to work, you can always hold down the power button for 5 seconds. This is a hard shutdown and can cause problems, but will shut down the machine.
