There no driver required for a CDROM to function. If you have plugged in the cables correctly then your BIOS then Windows will detect it. I have seen instances where the CDROM is not detected after the uninstall of cd burning software - let me know if that's the case.
Thanks for the attention given.I have finally got the cd rom working.It was actually in the wrong IDE cable .It should be connected to the PRIMARY IDE together with the master hard drive.
