looking for a laptop

im looking for a laptop that will help me with my course at uni, (computer games development) ive been to a few shops and had a look online, in the shops they said i would want one with a 'dedicated' graphics card because it would be better than a normal 1 with double the MB and one guy said look at apple macs, does anybody know if this is true or have any information to help thanks.

As I said it really depends.
As ever it's a case of numbers, you go for the biggest ones your budget can take.
CPU - Core2
RAM - 2 Gb
HDD - 100 Gb
GPU - 256Mb Geforce
Screen - 17"
DVD+/-R

there's a few things to look for as a minimum.
