| | | Print is fuzzy on PC I'm not computer literate...and not sure if this is where my question belongs. Let me try.
I have a PC and all of a sudden the print is blurry. I thought it was my eyes, but I can
read a book without the letters getting blurry. I made the print bigger, but it's still a
bit blurry. Do you have any idea how I can improve the print without getting too
technical. | | | | | | |

| When you say that the print looks fuzzy do you mean screen print or printed pages from the printer? |

| I mean the print on the screen.....i.e. your response. It's better with the fonts being
enlarged. |

| Jammy,
OK, you have the ability to adjust the scree image in two places. One is on the screen itself, usually along the bottom front edge you will find buttons to adjust the images.
From the , "All of a sudden" I 'm pretty sure some one messed with buttons accidentally and fouled up the focus.
The second place is via the Windows Control panel, Display. There you can set up how you want Windows to look as well pick your own picture for the desktop and series of pictures for your screen saver. |

| There were no buttoms at the bottom of the computer. The closest was digital imaging, but
that didn't help. I'm going to have a friend of mine try your second suggestion. I'm too
uncomfortable trying to do it. I got confused right away. Sorry...anything technical is
so - not my thing!!! |

| Jammy,
Run your fingers along the front bottom edge of the screen, not the PC.
Do you know the model number and manufacturer of the screen? |

| jammy, I think he means the buttons on your monitor. There's buttons on the monitor to get you into a menu that includes different options for settings on the monitor itself. Although I'm not sure what's expected to be there, cause I don't have any setting that would really help blurriness. (Well, I have a moire reduction but have never really figured out what that does.)
Has anyone else been using it? Could be a resolution change or refresh change. Is it a flat panel? I don't have a flat panel, but from what I hear, they get really picky about the resolution being the "correct" one. You can get to those settings by right-clicking on the desktop, going into properties, and then settings. Although you may want your friend to do that part if you're uncomfortable with it. |

| sounds like someones been messing with moire settings.
there should be a button labelled "menu" or have a little square next to it to go into screen setup either along the bottom or the side of the screen
into the menu and find "moire" (usually under advanced) and make sure both horizontal and vertical values are at 0 |

| As strange as it may sound I have noticed that Windows 'ClearType' Display can make print look fuzzy on some machines.
If you have Windows Vista installed on your computer follow these steps to turn of
1. Right click on any blank spot of desktop, and then select Personalize on pop-up context menu.
2. Select Window Color and Appearance.
3. Click on “Open classic appearance properties for more color options” link located at the bottom of the page.
4. Click on the Effects button.
5. Do one of the following:
Uncheck (untick) the “Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts” box.
or
Select “Standard” to replace ClearType in the drop down list under the above title.
6. Click OK, then click Apply, and finally finish with clicking OK again.
If you have Windows XP installed it may be because you have recently upgraded to Internet Explorer 7. (This may have happened automatically). If this is the case follow these steps to disable ClearType;
1. Open IE7
2. Open Tool Menu
3. Click Internet Options
4. Click Advanced Tabs
5. Under Multimedia, clear the Use ClearType checkbox
6. Click OK twice. |
