    Hello w:

I certainly don't know. Maybe you bought a slow computer... But, if it's NOT a Mac, you need to do some maintenance yourself. You need to make sure your hard drive is defragmented. You need to make sure you aren't infected with virus's and worms, and nasty things like that. You need to keep your registry honed down and sleek. You need to make sure that you don't have misc programs running in the background. You need to minimize your startup programs...

Stuff like that. I can't teach it all to you now. You can get some help by using some utilities that are available. I use a couple; Ace Utilities, Spywareblaster, AVG virus detection, and probably a few others...

That's probably why your computer runs slow.

The #1 reason for slowness in my experience is memory-related. A laptop running Windows should have the MAXIMUM memory installed that the laptop will take... and it's frequently less than 1gb... very bad.

Post your laptop make and model and we can help you identify how much memory it will take.

Right-click the MY COMPUTER icon and select Properties to see how much memory is installed (listed on the General tab).

Upgrading laptop memory is remarkably easy, usually only 1 screw to remove.

Its can be from several reason but may be you bootup program is not working properly or it can be for memory reason.
