installation problems

i am facing peculier problem with my pc.p3 type,window98 se os,i am not able to install ms office,dvd r/w.each time it is giving error message during installation(some times system gets hanged and forced shut down to be done,some times error messge pertaining to window registry,some times contact software vendor etc.),same software on othe pc were successfully installed,other applications are running ok,i repartioned and format the disk,re installed win98se but again facing same problem.

Which version of Office? Exact error messages?

version is office2000,during installation messageis "error 1335 cab file req. for installation is corrupt "
in case of dvd/rw ,application is nero and error message is "error during installation of component "Aac"
no installation problem in other pc with same cd.i copied on hdd assuming cdrom read error,but same result.is it due to some hardware problem in mboard? or some other

try make a folder called "office" or something and copy the contents of the cd into there and install off the harddrive (make sure you have "show hidden files and folders" enabled prior to copying)

twilcox agrees : This should work if the problem is your CD drive not being able to transfer the data fast enough, it's worth a shot.

i did that way (copy all incl. hidden file) but same result.

i installed registry boosterbut could not run it gives message"registrybooster.exe file is linked to to missing export SHELL32.DLL:SHGEtFolder pathA
a device attached to the system is not working
