hp recovery disks

how do you use the hp recovery disks. I put in no.1, but nothing happens.

You have to boot to disc 1 and follow the on screen instructions from there.

You may also have to go into the BIOS to make sure that your system is setup to try to boot from the CD drive first and not the hard drive.
