How do I get into by BIOS???

Hi.

I would like to change my boot sequence so that my computer will try to boot from CD-ROM first.

I have done everything in last few days to get into BIOS (F1, F2, F9, F10, shift-control-del......) but wasn't successful. Can anyone help me?

I have a COMPAQ Presario notebook 1715CA. My operating system is Windows XP Home.

G'day, soon as you turn ur PC on hold the shift key and press F5 repeatedly, this will get you into the BIOS.
When in there you have the option of choosing the device sequence in which the system looks at to boot up the system.

For Compaqs, its either F2 or F10. What I usually do is tap each key one after another by alternating both index fingers until the bios screen kicks in. It's one of the 2 keys. Your timing is just off a little bit. Had it not been a Compaq, I would have said press DEL.
