Howdy
You have spyware. It's a very common thing for anyone who is connected to the internet. You need to go to www.download.com and search for "Spybot." Download and run this and it should take care of your problem!

If what you are referring to is the RED X in a white square that is where a picture or graphic is supposed to be, then your problem is within Internet Explorer and not spyware. You will need to either upgrade to the latest version of IE6 or reinstall your current version of IE to bring your graphics back. Alternately, you could reinstall your current version of Windows or upgrade your Windows version if possible.
