This is assuming that you are running in Windows of some kind.

I would try the following:

It may be hard to find a zip extractor in you computer depending on your situation. They can be called many things and one of them might not be in your program files. If you are like me, I have had many different computers. Old files that I want to keep are placed in the new computers and I don't necessarily load all the programs back into the program files.

If you do find something that you think might be a zip file extractor, I would right-click on it and place a shortcut on your desktop. Then I would drag, (by keeping your finger down on the left button of your mouse) the zip file that you want to open directly over the zip extractor. Should work.

If you don't find a zip extractor in your machine, I would do a Google search for ultimate zip or winzip. And, download one of them. Place a shortcut or the program itself on your desktop and then do the drag thing as described above.

If you're using Windows XP, it has built-in support for zip archives, just follow TheSavage's directions. Otherwise use a third-party program such as Winzip or Winrar.

Well done Darey
You might also encounter RAR files which are much the same as ZIPs but you'll need a different program to open those.
