computer crashed?

please help,when i turn my computer on,i get a message saying kernal error 1255,its running really slow and many of the programs fail to run,run really slow or just freeze up,when i click on my computer,it does'nt even register c drive,it just shows a red cross,and i can't access bios on start up,nothing happens when i press f2,please help

It sounds like your hard drive is dying. The screen were it reads kernal error is blue?

no,still got screen saver and all icons,also get messages about shutting down buggys????

If you have a recovery partition on your system, I would try that.

Granted, you will loose all unsaved files, but, it sounds like it could be a virus.

When you start the computer, hold down the F-11 button and see if system recovery opens.

There are instructions there if it does.
