Hello all,

I hope someone can help. My laptop wont boot. It goes to the compaq screen but the bios wont load. I try pressing f1 or f10 and all it does is "buzz" sound. there is a small blue box that appears after 10 seconds from turning it on but nothing happens. Almost any button I press just makes that "buzz" or "ping" sound. I just want to reset it to factory or reload a fresh xp install on it but since it doesnt have a cdrom drive on it I cant. I guess my next question is, if I use a external cdrom drive, will it still load my XP disk? If not how can I reset it back to factory settings and try and get past the first screen?
