check signal cable

after fitting a new cd burner on start-up I get the message --CHECK SIGNAL CABLE -- what does this mean and what is the signal cable

Are you seeing this on your monitor? If so it means your monitor is not getting a signal form the video boards. You may have loosened the board or the cable.
