I'm new to Vista. I'm attempting to install some of my old XP simulations on my new computer. I have been advised to change my graphics from 8 bit to 16 bit. I knew how to do this on XP but Vista is a harder to navigate around. how do I do this? Also, is there any way to upgrade my old games and simulations to be compatible with Vista? thanks, tom
I'm sure you already are set to 16 or 32 bit display, right click on desktop and click Personalize - now click display settings - You should see what you have your colors set to here, make appropriate changes
install your old games, try these options to see if they will work or not
1 - right click on the game icon that plays the game, now choose 'run as admin'
see if this works
2 - right click on the game icon and choose properties, now click on the compatibility tab
check the box to "Run this program in compatitblity mode for:"
and in the drop down box, choose windows XP and click apply
