CD's

Hi,
As the moderator said, post the exact error message.
It could also be your CD burning software. What program do you use to burn CD's?
Also, if the software gives you a choice of "Verifying files after copying them to the CD", turn off the "Verify files".
And, turn off any screensavers while burning, and turn off any Antivirus Programs you have running while burning (disable).

Depending on your software, the above might help.
Best of luck,
fredg
PS; If you don't have a lot of RAM, like at least 512, then re-boot the computer after you burn a CD. This will refresh the memory, giving you plenty to have while burning.

Cant burn cd's

I used to use Nero 5.0 with XP and had a lot of trouble accessing my burned CDR's when I'd finished.Although the discs were basically X48,I tried lowering the burn speed to X12,and even down to X8.Always the responce would be patchy.Other contributors on the forum had said that they also had problems with Nero.A friend of mine recommended CDBurnerXP Pro 3,which I now use without any trouble.Their web page is http://www.cdburnerxp.se/

As Fred said, dont bother with verifying files if it causes you problems. If the data has failed to burn anyway, this will only upset your PC even more.

If you decide to use CDBurner XP Pro 3,please use version 3.0.116,and not the alpha version,as that could be 'buggy'.Version 3 is fine though.

All the best,
Nez.
