Cannot send email from Outlook 2003

I contacted my ISP due to an email stuck in outbox- at that time I could send/receive. After they helped me, now I cannot send any mail. The stuck email is deleted and I can receive mail, but not send. Right after no mail would send, I got PC-cillin message detecting ADW COUPONBARA virus. Any help?

What virus protection are you using?

I suggest you run a full scan and see what it can detect.

If you can receive mail but not send, contact your ISP again and ask them for the correct SMTP server, triple check what they give you in your account setup.

TOOLS > EMAIL ACCOUNTS > VIEW/CHANGE EXiSTING EMAIL

Double click your email account to open the setup screen

Put the SMTP server in the OUTGOING Server Information

Click TEST ACCOUNT.

If this isn't working, you should be able to do this WITH your ISP support tech on the phone and he can see if/when your account is attempted access. They may be able to spot the problem by watching the traffic.

Thanks for your quick reply. I learned after investing hours that my ISP had been hacked into and that was my problem. Wish they would have shared that at the outset, but happy to be back in business.

OUCH! Well, if it's not a major ISP, perhaps time to switch...?

Comcast was hacked into? I doubt that. They may have suffered a denial of service attack which basically is an overload. But I doubt if they were truly hacked.
