Business Introduction letter

I am new to the company and I need to send a letter to one of the members of the company's board. Not only I don't know the protocol, but English is my second language. Can anybody tell me is this draft is good or if I should add, delete or change anything?

"My name is (My name) and I recently joined the (department) as a (position). I wanted to take the opportunity to introduce myself.

I am originally from (my country of origin) where I received my BBA in Communications with an emphasis in marketing and advertising. Throughout my 10 years of international market experience (5 years managing (company name) advertising in nineteen countries throughout Latin America, plus 5 years as an International Marketing/Sales director for a wholesale distributor located in the Miami Merchandise Mart,) I have gained a broad exposure to a number of international marketing and commerce functions as well as international client-base acquisition strategies.

Throughout my career in international commerce, I have enjoyed the challenge of developing creative and innovative strategies that would differentiate our products in the international marketplace. I am confident that I will able to use my experience and skills to increase the international business of (board member's industry).

I would love to have the opportunity to discuss your business with you as well as your goals and expectations regarding international exposure thorugh (my company). The information that you can provide me will be very useful to build the most effective strategic approach to effectively reach potential international buyers. I am looking forward to meeting you at the next board meeting on Feb ___,2008. In the mean time, if there is anything I can do for you, please contact me at any time.

Sincerely,
