Wilson Wheeler sewing machine info

I was looking for some information on a sewing machine we've had for a while.

It's a Wilson Wheeler. It was a couple numbers stamped on it. The first one is "L-12-W-1" and the second is "No 12 170061"

I've been trying my hardest to find any information about it on the internet, but so far, all I've come up with is that Singer acquired the company in 1905!

Excellent information in the links provided above! I just wanted to add another couple of links where you might find some information. Also, the No. 12 machine would appear to have been built around 1897 and had a seam trimer for leather, upholstery & clothing.
