Astrological Ring

I found a ring--size 12 made from pewter with a bronze slide. Outside of ring is etched with months of the year. inside of ring is etched with numbers --1 thru 8 on one half and 4 thru 11 on the other and a #12 between them. Top slide on ring has a peephole. Top portion also has Roman style leafs. Do you have any ideas what this may be?
