value of 1923 lge. $1.00 bill with letter H

5 /25 I did review the answers on previous requests for value of oversized 1923 series $1.00 bill and saw answer indicating a letter D over & to left of the blue seal..my bill has a letter H and is in what I would call very fine condition..all four corners are flat with no tears or bends. Thanks so much..my first time on here..what a great site. Diz

Flying Blue Eagle is the person on this site who has current documentation as to the possible monetary values of the currency that you have. I am sure that he will be along at some point in the near future to address your question.

signatures H. Speelman and Frank White.
It is a silver certificate
It is a blue scalloped seal
Not sure what a "United States Note" is..I can't see that printed anywhere on the bill.
Serial number is Z51148312D
To upper left of the blue seal is a fancy looking letter H
To the lower right side above and to right of signature is the same letter H with tiny number 8099 after it

Hope your weather has improved..have been watching reports last few days and it's been pretty scary. Thanks for your help., Gram72

Good evening ( GRAM72 )
" DIZ " I think that you will be glad to read what I have gotten on your $1.00 large size silver certificate, Series 1923, Blue seal and signatures by ( Spellman & White ) . Here is a little history about this piece of paper money ::
The large size silver certificate started back in 1875, and lasted untill

DIZ - I dont know what happened but there is a real big empty space between my complete answer , so just scrool on down a ways F.B.E.

Gram72- DIZ <I believe that you will be glad to read what I have on the 1923 $1.00 silver certificate that you have in question, and the values of it . First a little history about this piece of paper money . ;; IT first came out in 1875 and these notes lasted untill 1923, in 1923 there was three different changes that caused there to be three different signtures on them , plate # 237 had - spellman 7 white ( YOURS ) plate # 238 had WOODS & WHITE < THE last and most valuable was PLATE # 239 which had WOODS & TATE.:::: Serial Numbers with a STAR at the front or at the back end . ( Ininstances after 1908 in which somenotes in a series weremisprinted or otherwise had to be destroyed and replaced , the serial numbers on the face of the replacement notes are preceded or followed by a red Star. ON some earlier currency such as the coin or treasury notes and the series of 1890 and 1891c have stars following the serial numbers as part of the design on the front of the note..
Plate letters and numbers ::: Letters identify the position of a note on the face of large size bills, and for most types atiny numeral designates the back position,. on small size bills there is a combination letter and number on the face, such as ( h22 ) and a number on the reverse such as 78. :::
Other notes on the STAR NOTES ::: besides of when it is a misprint or the note is damaged ,it can and will become a star note when there is any changes made on the note , such as " one or both Signatures are changed ,also when this happens the letter on the series date changes ( LIKE THIS ) 1953 then a change it becomes 1953A then 1953 B ectect
STAR NOTES ARE A LOT MORE VALUABLE
( HERE IS FOR THE ONE YOU HAVE )

VG-8 - $ 35.00 :: F-12 - $40.00 :: VF-20 - $50.00 :: EF-40 - $55.00 :: UNC-63 - $125.00
Good luck & god Bless, I hope I have Helpped you With Your Question, . (P.S. ) REMEMBER THAT THEY CAN EVEN BE MORE VALUABLE THEN THIS < ITS JUST HOW BAD SOME ONE WANTS THAT CERTAIN NOTE ::: F.B.E. ( HELLO CLOUGH )

Hello to you too, F.B.E.! I don't know what happened to your post either for it to have such a huge space in it - biggest space in a post that I ever saw! But, I fixed it for ya! I could only use the backspace key for a little ways before it wouldn't go any further and would have to press the backspace key again. This happened a number of times when I was getting rid of the space. Weird!
