old jug

i have a jug where the name was signed on the jug when the clay? was wet. and the name
is Jacob Childers. my grandmother was from the NC mountains, and we think that is where she brought it. i am no expert but the jug is quite old and has a stonish look. i would say much over 100 years, since my grandmother was 92 when she passed 28 years ago. any info? thanks, kay

I haven't found anything on the Internet yet about an artist or person that made objects out of clay. But, that doesn't mean that it's not out there somewhere. It just might be really hard to find.

If you were to post an image here and also give the dimensions of the jug, it's possible that were might be able to give you a possible monetary value for it based upon comparing it to other similar items.
