hockey/baseball/football cards ?

I just came into a large collection of sports cards from my dad who recently passed. I don't know anything about "selling value" so how can I find a reputable dealer who will buy them?

It would help to know where you live in order to answer your question better. I wish that we had a collectible card expert on this site. Unfortunately, we don't. In the meantime, you might want to check out the answers that you will find on the following links below.

What they are worth depends greatly on the condition that they are in and how they are stored. An expert would actually have to see and examine them to determine their condition.

I used to collect baseball and football cards when I was a kid. That was in the 1960's. During the 1980's I gathered them all together. I purchased a book to find out the possible prices. I was amazed at what I saw! I immediately organized and protected them in sleeves in a three-ring binder. I put the most valuable ones in hard plastic. Any of the supplies for storing them properly can be found at collectible card stores. Also, if the collection is in a good, organized display, it is bound to fetch a higher price than just cards stored loosely in a box.

Please be aware that people who are serious about purchasing collectible cards get very picky about the condition of any card. What you might find online or in a book about the possible price is only a rough indication as to what a set or individual card might be worth.
