Centurion 35 day clock

I just got a Centurion 35 day clock and I can't finger out how to get it to stay running.
I didn't get anything with it, but a key. It has two holes and I'm not sure what I need to do. 1 of the springs is tight and the other isn't! Can some one help me and tell me that it isn't broke.

Thanks
