I wanted to know the value of my series of 1928 g red seal $2 dollar bill!
I've been preserving the bill from any damage done to it. I've been searching online to find the answers to my questions but no one seems to have the answers. I've went to the bank and they weren't able to help me with my problem. It's in very fine (vf) condition. It has no tears. The serial number is D88889214 A. Of course it has the picture of jefferson's house in monticello,va, when he was smaller. Like other dollar on the botton of the presidents name where it says just the amount of the bill, on my bill it says "The United States Of America Will Pay To The Bearer On Demand Two Dollars. Everything on this bill is worded differently than all the other bills I've seen. If there is someone who can help me or know where I can find someone who does this for a living please let me know asap. Thank you for your help.

unfortunately my friend, 2 dollar bills even from that year are too common to be considered rare or valuable, the worth is 2 dollars, unless something on it makes it special... some things that increase the value of a 2 dollar bill... if there is an interesting pattern in the serial number
There is a star in the serial number (Star note)
The bill were to have some sort of an error, such as an ink spill, missing the third printing (which includes the serial number and the seal), improper cutting, mismatched numbers, etc. these things can drive the price up, because collectors have a reason to want it. Unfortunately, other than that, it is 100% IMO only worth 2 bucks... sorry, I found the same thing when looking up prices on some coins/bills in my collection at home.

and that is totalreasons two cents...

OK I just found this interesting piece of info...

Current $2 bills, which are Federal Reserve Notes, are not commonly encountered in circulation but are too common to hold additional value. All small-sized $2 United States Notes with a red seal and older large size notes are obsolete and are collectibles. The only $2 Federal Reserve Notes that are collectibles are special products consisting of notes not put into circulation and are sold through the B.E.P; also, Series 1976 $2 bills with a canceled stamp are collectibles

so 1972 cancelled stamed bills, and red sealed ones might be worth a little more. . I'm still looking into HOW much more, I'm intrested to see what the prices are for these red sealed ones because I have one myself...

1928 G Red Seal Two Dollar Bill $2 here is a guy selling one for 20 bucks... I've been reading on these red-sealed bills, and from what I now hear if it has a red star by the serial number, the value goes up. Take a look at this pic and tell me if yours lookslike this one...
