My $20 bill has a small little green star on the top left hand corner next to the serial number I already checked a lot of $20 and none have the little green star could this be a small misprinted bill??

YEARS ago they used the stars as a decoratiion around the outer edges and in early 1900 they had to us the stars for something else; the something else! - Durning printing of paper money ,a note is damaged and can't be used in circulation, the note is removed and listed in a record book, then it is taken to the furnace and burned,then they print another note just like the damaged one [except] it has the stars at the beginning of the serial number or right at the start, these stars you will find in red,green,blue-colorsand they can be on ANY DENOMINATION;; also this happens whena damaged bill goes back to a bank ,it goes back to the treasury and same thing happens;; THESE are called {STAR NOTES<AND REPLACEMENT NOTES} NOTE -What I need from you is the {series date and the letter right after the date, the type of bill,{ Silver certificate]{A
