Belief is an individual experience based on assumptions instead of on facts and supported views. If you believe in God or not is part of your perception of reality.
For most Christian people the Bible is a guideline for life. For many it is also "the word of God". For others it is a book of myths based on 2000 to 7000 year old stories from the Middle East, with many of these stories more or less copied from other religions.
For this latter group the Bible is inaccurate, and a mixture of mistakes, misinterpretations, and other obscurities.
Specially the Old Testament shows the dark side of Christianity. Reason for many - even in this thread - to focus on the New Testament, while using the Old Testament mainly for selected references, often used out of context.
Historically many data in the Bible may be correct, but the question is if that is relevant towards the accuracy of essence of the Bible, the claim that the Bible is "the word of God". My personal view is that that is not the case.
God's existence, qualities, and demands on humanity are the essence of the Bible. and for that there is nothing to support that with objective evidence.
The Bible is not a book of science, nor a book of history. It is a book full of unsupported religious claims. A book however that also as focal point of Christianity should be treated with respect. No matter if you believe or not believe in God.
