Number of sacraments, type of baptism normally done, age at which baptism is normaly done. Of course the Catholic Church is much older than the Baptist, so they have a lot of tradions not found in the Baptist church.
Of course one could say similar things on difference between Lutherans and Baptist also

Explanation from another angle: The Catholics hold to traditions and teachings going back 2000 years whereas the Baptists (with many other Protestant groups, hold to ideas that surfaced in the Church 4-500 years ago, the most important being the new idea that the Bible alone is a Christian's sole authority.
With Biblical teachings the two differ on what to take literally or not. One example being Baptism. The Bible teaches "one baptism for the forgiveness of sins": Catholics take this literally, and therefore a Sacrament, whereas Baptists teach that Baptism is simply a practice by a Christian as a sign to the community of his/her life change.
Entire volumes have been written on the differences between Catholics and Protestants so this is just a fraction of it.

Hello Fr_Chuck,
Do you believe this statement to be true? Christ said He is the Way, the Truth and the Life.. and He established Only One Church that will exist to the end of time for He said " the gates of Hell will not prevail against it." This Church has the fullness of Truth! with Authority to teach from Christ himself. If so do you believe he was referring to the Catholic church. My Uncle teaches about Catholicism and he told me this. He says that other religions are not bad they just are not the whole truth. In a way this makes sense because most Christian religions branched from a central belief system. Also during my research I have found that Catholic really means Universal in Greek.
Also to Wangdoodle thank you for the links, however the Baptist one has nothing on it except a title.

OF course any denomination in Christianity, teaches that the others are in errror in any teaching that is not the same as thiers.
But yes Iwould say that I agree with the statement, But I believe it was talking about the Church, there were no denominatoins, only the church,
It was actually Jewish teaching of Christ to starrt and with Paul started including non Jews into Christianity.
With that, the original church split first between the East and West, what we know today as Catholic and Orthodox. There really was not titles of Catholic or Orthodox in the early church, you had leaders who were Bishop of this church or that church, Rome, antioch and so on
Also remember there is no "ONE" Baptist teaching, you have southern baptist, free will baptist, indepentant baptist and more, even a gay baptist in Atlatata.

I will challenge that Marily, assuming you belong to a denomination, every church has its own rules and teachings. The Apostles Creed that many churches use, it is an "addition"
