I have been paying child support for my 6 yaer old for 6 years now and I just had another child with my wife 2 years ago. When I went back to domestic relations to see see if I could get my child support lowered due to me supporting 2 children instead of one now. They have not lowered my support at all they have only taken more out of my checks due to me making more money. I wanted to see if someone knew if they had to lower the support order due to me paying for 2 children? Pleasee someone get back to me ASAP. Thank you

Nope, they don't have to. Your child gets a percentage of what you make. Period. Your pay raises, so does child support, for one, two, or how ever many children you have.

This is not what I am saying at all. You see, child support for the child that is not living with you is based upon a percentage of your income. Your income increases, so does your child support to the non-custodial child.

Now as for the child that you have with your wife, you are not paying child support in the same sense.

sorry no, child support has little to do with how many other children you may have, or even if paying child support for toher children,
normally it is based on your pay, ( or your pay and the other parents pay)
How much you have to pay for expenses is not a concern of the court.

Agrees wityh J_9 and Fr. Chuck. My ex tried to pull that one on me, when he got remarried and his wife had a child. The old, "I am supporting two children now" and the Judge did not buy it. His wife complained, saying that money was being taken out of their mouths and the Judge told her to sit down.

Good luck in trying but don't expect yourself to win. You owe support and you pay.
