no sleep

I have a 3 year old who is not sleeping through the night. We will put him to bed around 9 but he will wake up between 1 and 5 am and come in our bed. At that time we are to lazy to get up and put him back in his bed. I hope there is another solution to my problem. I don't want to make him cry because for one it's too early and the other I have a 6 month old in my room, in her own bed. It all comes down to it that it is my fault.

It's easy to say but it is hard because then I would have to lay with him and I would fall asleep with him.

Everyone does things differently, which is great because every kid is individual. Your story sounds like I could have been the author...we go through the exact same thing with our son. He goes to bed at 9, although we no longer stay in his room while he falls asleep. (We used to, then we stayed for shorter and shorter periods of time, now not at all.) He gets up sometimes in the middle of the night. He is sneaky and usually doesn't wake my husband or myself up. He just crawls in our bed, and you don't know he's there until he's sound asleep and flings the dead weight of an arm into your unsuspecting face. We too are lazy and don't bother to take him back. That is the only solution, so if his being there disrupts your sleep or you don't like it, you gotta march him back to his own bed. As for me, this is my last baby. I think I'll snuggle with him a little longer....
