child and vibrators

hi! I know my seven yr. old daughter masturbates often, since she was four and I've taught her that it is a private matter. but recently, she has been using toys that vibrate. and some are dangerous. so I looked on line and found a mini vib. should i get her one?

Since she's already experimenting with other objects, I would say yes just to keep her from doing any damage to herself. Since you've already talked to her about it, hopefully discussing the vibrator and proper use and cleaning won't be a problem either. Better she learn to be responsible about it if she's going to do it anyway.

No, she's far too young to use toys. She's a child, let her enjoy her childhood. You shouldn't be taking such an interest in what she does in private either, it sounds rather creepy to me. Let her play by herself in private. You need some boundaries here.

And let her potentially injure herself? That would be neglectful. Children masterbating is not uncommon. Most don't even realize they are doing it or what they are doing, but like the feeling. It's her mother's responsibility to make sure that if she is going to do it (and aparently she is) that she does it safely. It's not like she said she was going to sit there and watch. (Ewwww...just threw up a bit)

This kid will probably have the most rational and healthy attitude about sex than most adults will ever understand.

Masturbating with young children is nothing to worry about, but I would talk to her about potential danger in using objects that are not intended for that purpose, explain to her that her body can be damaged if she isn't careful.

The thought of buying a vibrator for a 7 year old is alarming. What is this world coming to? Having a healthy attitude about sex and masturbation is one thing, but buying her sex toys is in my opinion border line child abuse, she's 7.

My opinion, no a 7 year old should not have a vibrator, imagine explaining that to her friends parents, because you know she's likely to tell her friends about it, now that's a conversation I'd love to hear.

MOWERMAN2468 agrees: I too am thinking on the abuse lines here.

I agree you can talk to her about it as open as you can.....
But no, a child should not be haiving a vibrator. I just want to remind you that she is 7, how much of a private life does she have at this age, you should be able to know what she is doing at almost all the time. You should be able to know if she has taken a toy. Get rid of them if you have to.....
Alty is right, she won't be keeping secrets at this point. We need to step back into reality.
She is 7.....
Good luck!

I didn't say it was a big vib! I said that it was a mini teaser. I won't buy her dildo. just something small and safe.

It just doesn't matter. Please don't buy her a vibrator.

I would say buying a child a vibator is as near being child abuse by a parent as I could say and I would think if found out that family and children services learning that a parent is teaching a child that young how to masterbate would end them up in court without custody of that child. ** for the childs protection.

The child should not have been allowed to get this far in the first place.

Izannah disagrees: Children masterbate all the time, no court would consider that abuse. IF the parents TAUGHT her to, FORCED or ENCOURAGED it, it MAY be different. This is something she naturally does, why not do it in a healthy manner?
MOWERMAN2468 agrees: balancer. the purchasing of a vibrator for a 7 yr old is wrong.
Altenweg agrees: Exactly!
