child and vibrators

hi! I know my seven yr. old daughter masturbates often, since she was four and I've taught her that it is a private matter. but recently, she has been using toys that vibrate. and some are dangerous. so I looked on line and found a mini vib. should i get her one?

i'm just trying to protect my daughter from hurting herself. besides she comes to me alot with her troubles and questions. if not ask me, then some stranger? too many kids don't ask their parents about sex. they learn it from porn or tv.

She is 7, you can talk about stuff. You are going way past the line here. You really should be careful as Father Chuck said, this could go farthur than you want it to.

Don't get her a vibrator.

Tell her that her toys aren't to be used for that purpose.

I know children masturbate all the time, but generally it's not every day.

She needs to know boundaries, and you've started with teaching her that touching herself is a private thing. She now needs to know that there are some things she can not do until she's a grown up--like having other people touch her, no matter how good it feels, and using anything but her hands in her private areas.

Vibrators are big girl toys. Would you allow your child to use a game that is not appropriate for her age (small pieces, adult content for example). Hopefully not. Same goes for the vibrator. I agree with Start and Synn here, you need to teach her boundries and appropriate play with her toys.

Also, start is correct, as the age of 7 she should be supervised closely.

I am going out on a limb here and going to say that should she mention to one of her friends that you bought her a "special toy", that info could get to a parent that is not as open minded as you are and end up in a really BIG legal mess. I know that in your heart you are only concerned for your child and I admire your open and accepting attitude ( we need more like you) but you know there are forces out there that would just love to see you "burned at the stake" for that attitude.

Wow!! If your son was using a plastic toy gun to shoot at animals, would you go out and buy him a "real" one so that he could find it more adequate?

Children do not know why the are having natural feelings of pleasure and innocently masterbate to satisfy this urge. It's not necessary to encourage a 7 year old to use an adult toy to do this and you don't have to conspicuously support it.

MOWERMAN2468 agrees: well said. I do not agree with the purchasing of the vibrator for the 7 yr old either.
J_9 agrees: Bravo!!! Great analogy.

I have a question for this scenario, is this common for this child to be this Advanced in sexual play? Or has she had some help such as an older "friend". Sounds like she may possibly have been the victim of abuse to me. But I am not pointing fingers here, just curious as I do not know how the girls do growing up. And I think 7 is way to young to be playing this way without some other type of outside of her own head's imagination meaning I think she has had some "directions" of some sort from someone else.

Seven year olds masturbate? Oh my gosh that is crazy. I don't have any kids(i'm prettty young) So I really have no clue that this occurs. That is scary.

But I don't think you should buy her a vibrator because you will be teaching her how to be sexual at a very very young age. You should definilty speak. I don't think she is really "masturbating" she has found a spot that feels quite good when touched and she is curious. I remember feeling that way when i was 12. It happened in the shower. I had no idea what that feeling was and where it was exactly. I was curious.

Good Luck

And I have to wonder what this post is all about?
