3 yr. old starting daycare

My son will be turning 3 in October and I am wanting to put him in daycare. My ex-husbands elderly father has been caring for him since he was 2 months old and is getting to where he can't handle a rowty toddler 8 hours a day. My son has social problems because he isn't use to being around other kids to often. He has a few friends that are his age but when it comes to being around a group of kids, he freaks out and doesnt want to let me or his dad go. We tried daycare a few months back but it didn't work out to well and my ex-husband had some health issues come up and we couldn't afford it anymore. So back to my father-in-law's he went. Does anyone know some ways to ease my son into being more social and getting along with other kids? He is also in the "everything is mine" stage and has become extremely stingy. Is there any way of dealing with this?

Thanks in advance!

LOL, been there done that....

He is going through normal phases of maturation.

As for the day care, that can take time, sometimes a month or more, but with time it does get easier.

You need to understand that what you and he are experiencing is all a very normal and natural part of growth.
