You need to talk to your mom... she will be able to help you understand what is going on. You should also see your doctor. I myself feel more comfortable with a male doctor but that is me. A male doctor can not be alone with you, another female will be present.

Whoa, slow down! A yeast infection happens to every woman on this planet, sexually active or not. It's not a sign of an STD or anything like that. It just happens. Your mom won't think its anything weird, I'm sure she gets them herself. I'd just tell her that you think you have a yeast infection and that you need to see a doctor. Your mom won't take you to your regular doctor, you will probably have to go see an OB/GYN. She will check it out and make sure that it's a yest infection (it could also be bacterial infection). She will then give you some cream to clear up the infection.

Don't worry, its not too scary ;) Your mom should be pretty cool about it.

Well when you go to the OB/GYN they will examine you and check for infection. They have you sit up on a table and you put your feet into stirrups and the doctor will examine your vagina. Its not weird, your mom can even be in the room with you if you want. It doesn't hurt it just feels kind of uncomfortable.

I don't like doctors either, but whenever there is something wrong you should go to one to make sure that your okay. If its not a yeast infection and instead is a bacterial infection it can get really bad. Its much better to go and deal with the discomfort for a minute (literally that is how long you will be on the table at the OB.GYN) and know that you are okay.

OK.. well do you think that I could do it instead because on other perople posts they said all they really do is put a swab up there.. is that tru? Nad if it is why can't I just go into the bathroom or something and then do it, and give the swab to the doc?

I have never heard of a doctor letting someone bring in their own swab. But that is what they do, it looks like a really long Q-Tip. I promise you it does not hurt. If you go and it hurts you can jump back on this board and send me the nastiest message every imaginable! It feels uncomfortable, not painful just kind of weird.

I think its pretty important to go to the doctor and get it checked out. I think you should tell your mom and go with it from there.

Yeah I know how you feel, but worse I had to tell my dad about my period and such. To tell you the truth they get more scared than you are now. You should just tell her and I bet she probably did it too when she was your age [; ohhh and about the male doctor if your mom calls tell her to tell the doctor that you need a female for "personal problems" it worked for me.

There could be something more going on. Many times yeast infections are triggered by antibiotics. But with as long as this has been going on, you should definitely get it checked out. Also, if it turns out to be a yeast infection... once it is cleared up... eat a yogurt a day... it will keep it away. The bacteria in the yogurt does something in your system and allows the good bacteria in your vagina to thrive. The good bacteria is what keeps the yeast infections away. Also, if you douche... dont. That can leave you with even more problems. Douching is really bad because it washes away the good bacteria.

Yeast infections are nothing to wait a long time on. You can end up with other secondary infections if left untreated. I would talk to your stepmom. She will understand.

You can go to the store like walmart and buy a test you just put it in your vagina and see what color it changes super easy. And if you have a yeast infection they have meds at the store right by the tests that will clear it right up.
