| Perhaps you should go to the try outs anyway...but tell the coach that you pulled a muscle. Cheering isn't just tumbling, so you can do all the screaming and what not and tell the coach what "tricks" you can do and then ask her if you can er...prove it to her a later date when your leg is better.
As for the leg its self....ice, heat, and elevation, bengay and IB profin might help some too.
