Sometimes a lack of height is the result of a medical condition. If this is the case, I believe that certain hormones can be taken under doctor's supervision that will help. I know of no exercise that will increase height.

Hope this helps...

drugs will not work if you are past your skeletal-growth stage (past about 21 years).

maintaining weight bearing exercise and using weights MAY help but only a little-possibly neglibly.

also, i just thought, are you male or female-the hormonal differences between men and women create a growth spurt in men/boys while growth continues for women until 21 or so-constant growth, then ceases

grammadidi agrees: Ooops! Yep! I forgot that, but you are correct. Very good answer.

I'm sorry but by 18 there is a good chance your bone plate ends will have stopped growing so that it is not possible to grow anymore. [1] You never know you might get a few more inches but 3 to 4 seems overambitious. Your height is strongly regulated by your genes and your nutrition as a child - there is not much you can do.

Rather than wreaking your body with drugs that won't work anyway (if there was one wouldn't more people use it?) you should learn to accept yourself for how you are. People aren't going o judge you on your height- and if they do it's a good screen for shallow idiots who would probably end up judging you for something else in the end anyway.

A simple xray by your PCP can determine whether your epiphysial plates have fused. If they have, you're out of luck. There are drug treatments(i.e. aromatase inhibitors) to make one taller but they generally are only effective if started around puberty so at your age it will likely not help.

Many guys do grow into their early or mid twenties so just make sure that you are eating healthy and getting enough sleep. 3 to 4 inches may be a bit too hopeful but you may grow a bit yet. Don't stress about being short.
