first time shaving

my 15 year old will need to start shaving for the first time. I want to, know, if using an electric shaver will be better than a razor. His dad uses a shaver, but has the so called 5 o'clock shadow. Does the electric shaver hurt when used for the first time?

It depends on what one you use. From what my husband says they can be kind of rough on the skin. Try one that vibrates they work well.

Excellent advice. I use an electric now, because it's faster and I don't need shaving cream, but a triple edge always gives me a closer shave, and feels a lot better on my skin.
