    Delayed puberty
    Hi, I'm 18 coming on 19 and look very young for my age.
    I do have pubic hair around my penis but not a lot, have tiny hairs coming through under my armpits and no facial hair or anywhere else on my body for that matter.
    When I was 15 nearly 16 I consulted my doctor and I was put on hormone injections. I was on the injections for about 5 months then stopped.
    I have developed a bit since then but not enuff as I would have liked.
    I haven't noticed any change in my body for a good year now and are becoming very worried, stresed, depressed and have lost a lot of confidence in myself.
    At this moment in time I feel like I'm never going to grow.
    I smoke a lot and my diet is quite bad could that be the reason or am I just an overall late bloomer.
    Doctors always say the same thing to me that I've just got to wait it out but I've been waiting my whole life. I haven't been back to the doctors in about 6 months because I see it as being pointless now.
    Is there any advice or help you can give me?

    Hi, anthattan, I think you are obsessing over very little; first off, quit smoking and improve your diet. AND the more you worry and stress out over this, the worse its going to be (in your own mind). Your body type may be genetic, meaning, in your family. Get your mom to show you some pics of your dad, grandad, etc. or her side of the family.

    Some young men don't have growth spurts until 20 or so. As for the hair, don't worry about that, you may get more then you bargained for and then have to get rid of it! Some young men never have a lot of hair on their bodies.

    All kidding aside, give yourself time, it just seems like a lot of time to be waiting.
