If your 8 month old has had diarrhea for almost a week it's time for an emergency doctor's visit. Diarrhea can result in life threatening dehydration at such a young age.

home ideas would be good on day one and day two, at this point it is important to get medical care for that infant ASAP.

You want help and ideas , home remedies. maybe you dont have med insurance. Im sure if you called a pediatricians office you could get advice over the phone.
Dehydration is a possibility but with the right help right at home it can be helped, without going to the doctor.
Avoid apple juice ,fruit juice and fruit. Get some pedialite. popsicles, Have the baby eat starchy foods. potatoes is good. I hope they didnt scare you too much.
If this doesn't help and if a fever is present then you should try to get the baby in.
