6month infants growth and nutrition

Hi there, my son is 6months now he is on breast milk and 1-2tsp of caracal in a day and some days not even caracal. He won’t take bottle nor drink water or juice even to make it interested I put honey on nipple but still he is not ready. I tried all the ways 2 make baby food tasty with honey, milk and sugar but still he is not taking. but as I read in books that if baby watches you eating and open his mouth or try’s to take food with you he is ready for solid food, my son does these things but why he is not taking his food. Can you please tell me any way that I can start at least baby food and water as we stay in Middle East and it’s too hot scared that he won’t get dehydrated. Can you give me a chat how to feed and in how much time. Thanks you so much

It may be a cultural difference, but generally honey is not recommended for babies under a year old due to the possibility of botulisim.
If he is breastfeeding regularily there really is nothing more he "needs" to be having. Breastmilk is mostly water, so there is rarely a concern of dehydration, even in very warm climates....as long as he is taking a good number of feeds each 24 hour period. Juice is not necessary either, and often is just full of sugar....if you do decide to give him some, go with the sort that has no added sugar and just make sure it does not take the place of a feeding at the breast, as this is where his main source of nutrition will come from in the first year.
Many people start out with pureed fruits or vegetables....avocado is a wonderful first food for babies. Just keep it very, very smooth if you are making it yourself....or use the pureed ones you might find in many shops.
Always offer the breast first and when he is done, you may offer a small amount of the solid. It will only be a small amount at first so he can get used to the taste and texture. If he is not really interested just yet, try again in a couple of weeks...there is no rush for it. Gradually he will start to take less milk and more solids as he gets farther into the first year.
