potassium acetate as an antifreeze in water

hello,
I am wondering about the use of potassium acetate used in water as
an anitifreeze. Specifically, will it alter or hinder the water from being
effective in hydroxy production ?
Or are there other factors of consideration ?
Thanks,
Duane67
