    Thanks :p

    The quantum model
The modern model is the quantum model which explains why the protons don't fall into the nucleus do to the opposite attraction of the electrons :p

Eh Malcolmgrad, the protons *are* in the nucleus, happy together with the neutrons. Electrons are orbiting around - and outside the nucleus.

Bohr first adopted Rutherford's model, but later on turned to Planck's quantum theory, of which he was one of the refiners. The quantum theory is still the one that is accepted today.
