I don't jump back enough of Backhandspring

Okay, my cheerleading team all has their backhandsprings, and i am so close to mine. My only problem is that i jump up instead of back and my hands land like 6 inches from my feet when they are supposed to land like 2 feet from your feet. everyone tells me to sit back in a chair and push off of your heels. any tips?

thank you
