Cheer Jumps!

Hey!

I really want to try out for cheerleading...in about one month. I've been a cheerleader before, but it was more for fun at my old school than technique (and there were no tryouts -- anyone could be a cheerleader). Now I go to a pretty big school, and it's pretty competitive. The cheer squad I want to try out for is the less intense one. I've been taking a tumbling class, and I've almost got my round-off for tryouts, but I'm having a lot of trouble with my jumps. In particular, the toe touch. Does anyone have any suggestions? I look like I'm doing a spread eagle lol.

Thanks,
Kate

I used to do cheerleading too. You should first do the jump on the ground which i think helps alot. So then try it in the air and also stretch before. You should keep praticing before tryouts but not to much to wear yourself out. If you are good at everything else you can propably do it. Also smile.
