Backhandspring and Tryouts

Hi Guys!!!! I am trying out for my school cheerleading squad!!! I am trying to to get my backhandspring... I am pretty close to getting it on a tumble track!!! When the instructor stands right next to me I can do it but when he stands 2-3ft. away from me I fall on my head!!! I need it on the floor in only a few months!!! I am not sure what else you need for a middle school level cheerleading squad 6-8 grade. But if you know I would really appreciate the info!!!!
